Introduction
Coverage & Help
Customers can access all coverage information within our database. Coverage varies
upon each specific search. When conducting any search, a Coverage button is located
in the upper right-hand corner of the webpage. It is indicated with a globe icon.
Simply click on the icon to view all coverage information for that particular search.
This feature was designed to save you time and money.
After checking the coverage on a search, you may wish to learn tips on how to run
the search more effectively and efficiently. This is what the help button is for.
This button is designated by a red question mark and is located in the upper right-hand
corner of the webpage, directly to the right of the Coverage button. For a more
in-depth guide to
how to use our searches, please visit our
Training Page. Also, view our
Frequently Asked Questions.
People
Person Search
Finding people is part art, part science. We provide the science through data and
by the tools to help you efficiently conduct searches. IRBsearch allows you to combine
data from thousands of different sources creating the most comprehensive collection
of information about people in the United States. Data sources are updated daily
and records may date back 30+ years with the most current information being indicated
by a blue checkmark.
Advanced Person Search
Sometimes searches necessitate deeper investigation to find your subjects. We have
made in-depth searches easier with the Advanced Person Search. In addition to the features found in the Person Search, the Advanced Person Search provides optional fields for input such as: other last name, other city, other state(s), relative first name, and other relative first name. Advanced Person Search allows you to use partial information you may have to more accurately pinpoint where your subject may be located. You may also run an Advanced Person Search without entering data in the Additional Subject Information Fields; this type of query may still yield more detailed search results.
People at Work
Search over 250 million records of people connected with businesses to locate your
subject in the People at Work search. Officers, directors, small business owners
and possible employees are just some of the types of records you will find in the

confidence level indicator (designated by a thermometer icon) you may be able to
locate where your subject is working. Results include name, title, Social Security
Number, company, address, phone number, and date range.

InstantID® gives you an information score with potential risk indicators,
rather than a pass/fail designation.

name will retrieve the best response)

- Threshold: Select 100% through 70% to set how closely the search
terms should match the results. A threshold of 100% means that the search and result
has to match exactly. A threshold of 70% means that additional (uncertain) search
logic will be used to look for spelling and name variations. The default is 80%
match criteria
Flexible matching algorithms are used in searching to reduce false positive hits
and take into account name variations. The matching score is displayed in the results
with the highest scored records appearing first

country, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Sanctioned Country list will

Legislative Council (PLC) list, by checking the OFAC search-only box. When searching

Phones
Phones Plus
Our Phones Plus Search allows the combination of specific information such as:
last, first, and middle name, (middle initial) street address, city, state, zip
code, and telephone number. Phone listings from Directory Assistance may also be
in one or more fields.
Utilize the Phones Plus Search by entering information in one or more fields. Searching
by multiple fields increases your search precision, and therefore results in documents
that meet your exact criteria. To search more broadly, use fewer fields. When searching
on common names, please complete as many fields as you can to avoid overly large
result sets.
Basic Lookup
To conduct a Basic Lookup of a phone number, use some or all of the following information:
last, first and middle name (middle initial), company name, street address, city,

a city and state is usually more effective.
Basic Lookup results include: listing type (residence, business, or government),
name, address, phone number, and caption. The caption column displays additional
listing information such as the department name of a large business.
Reverse Lookup
Conduct a Reverse Lookup when the only information you have is the phone number.
As with the Basic Lookup, you can limit searches to include only residences or only
businesses, or both.
Reverse Lookup results include: listing type (residence, business, or government),
name, address, phone number, and caption. The caption column displays additional
listing information such as the department name of a large business.
